Welcome To The New CITIUS MAG
A new era begins for CITIUS MAG.
Hello, track nerds.
After months of working closely with Butter Studio and Estudio Buena Suerte, we finally unveiled our new branding and website. But despite the makeover, our mission remains the same: modernize track and field coverage and give fans a home to engage with their favorite sport.
As I mentioned in my last correspondence, the CITIUS MAG newsletter is expanding and changing a little bit. Each week, we will provide people with a comprehensive round-up of our best content across articles, podcasts, newsletters, videos, and social media. We’re in the heart of the track and field ‘regular season’ and our hope is that the new website will give you a one-stop shop to catch up on the week’s news and commentary.
Here’s what you need to know heading into this weekend:
Make sure to carve out a little time in your Memorial Day weekend plans to watch some track and field, because Sunday’s Diamond League meet in Rabat is sure to be a barn-burner. Olympic champs, world medalists, old rivals, and rising stars are headed to Morocco for the Meeting International Mohammed VI de Rabat – the second Diamond League event of the season. So crack open an ice-cold Olipop, fire up the grill, and make some world-class racing the highlight of your barbecue. David Melly breaks down all of the key athletes and storylines to watch.
All the action kicks off Sunday, May 28th with the pro races and the TV window beginning at 2 p.m. E.T. Here’s how to watch, a schedule and live results.

Olympic 100m champion Marcell Jacobs pulled out of his highly-anticipated clash against 100m world champion Fred Kerley due to a lower back injury. They’re still slated to race in Florence on June 2 but I’d venture to guess that matchup is unlikely. The memes were out of control after news of Jacobs’ scratch.
Olympic 1500m champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen is going up against U.S. indoor mile record holder Yared Nuguse for the first time. We break down why that matchup is particularly exciting and why it wouldn’t be crazy to think that Nuguse can win.

– World Athletics is scrapping the time qualifiers in the heats and semis of the 1500m, 5000m and steeplechase at the World Championships and Olympics.
Kyle Merber, Mac Fleet and I break down our thoughts on all of these rule changes on this week’s episode of “This Week In Track and Field” on The CITIUS MAG Podcast.
